Ordered LMF V2.7 (£7.50 plus £1.50 p/p) before 10am on Friday 24 October 2008, it arrived Wednesday 29 October, not the fastest turn around, but well packaged for the soundly constructed device.

The configuration of the device I received was not as shown in the web site pictures, ie; the lead and mode wires in the web site pictures come straight out the back of the device, the one I received has the lead and mode wires at 90 degrees on the side.

Initially this was disappointing as the limited space I had available to mount the device was better suited to the anticipated straight line configuration as pictured, so, like many modeling projects, a bit of adaptation was required to re-construct the space available, and then the device was suitably mounted.

I’ve got LMF set up in the supplied default mode for transmitter use and 30 minute timeout.  It’s being used with Spektrum 2.4Ghz radio gear in an electric flying wing and works fine on range check and can easily be heard 30 meters away.  Thankfully haven’t had to put it to the test for real yet.

Our flying area has great air space but is surrounded by miles of gorse, which is a night mare when a model goes astray, the peace of mind from having LMF fitted is great – thanks.

If there are both straight line or 90 degree configuration types of LMF V2.7 available, perhaps an option could be offered at the purchasing stage for user preference?

Or the pictures on the web site could be updated?

Any idea what the general consumption (volts and amps) of the LMF is in normal flight?

Oops, Yep sorry we forgot to update our pictures to show the mode wires now exit from the side. This is a failing on our part and has been corrected.

We did not get the order till late Friday afternoon, guess it took a while to rattle through the servers, sorry. We have ‘lost’ orders when posted on Fridays (we think the few dishonest postal workers find it easier to nick thinks when the sorting offices are quiet over the weekend) and so we do not post late orders till Monday morning.

Current consumption is 1.5mA  during normal flight.

Thanks Marco. This was taken from a forum discussing…...lost model finders

When we batch test, we put a piece of sticky tape over the sounder to quieten it down and avoid a splitting headache.

Goods have arrived OK and have fitted one - easy to set up and install.  Hopefully I will not have to call on it to do its job but as we fly RC Combat over a rape field it seems kinda likely! - and some of my other models are rather pricey.

Look forward to receiving the LMF 3.0 and fitting it in a new aircraft i'm just about to start building.

I've been very pleased with an earlier version of your LMF (2.??) in my existing model.
They have another purpose as well as a location device for lost aircraft; LMF are very useful for scaring off peoples dogs who chase my plane when coming in to land whilst flying at the local recreation area

What... "" Excellent "

There are no comparisons with other products cicalini from well-known homes, Lost Model Finder is truly exceptional.

After loosing a plane in heavy undergrowth and spending 4 hours unsuccessfully looking for it, I think £8 including delivery is an excellent investment. The devise is very easy to set up with excellent instructions.

I have tested by burying it in the undergrowth at my site and I can clearly hear it from over 100 yards away.

Thanks very much for the prompt service.

your LMF is simply GREAT!!... Thanks.

The only con is when I test it.... Immediately my missus (downstairs watching TV) appears on the shop door shouting like a mad....
what's going on here, turn off immediately that thing!
Won't tell you what happened that time I didn't realize she was sleeping...
