A nice big picture is worth 1000 words!Well here it is, the Mk3.0 Lost Model Finder. The biggest part is the electronic sounder which is the black circular part on the right. The diameter is 22mm by 17mm deep. Rated sound output at 12V is 90db at 30cm! We normally use 4.8 or 6 volt flight packs, so the sound output is reduced, but we can assure you (as found to my cost) stuck up a tree 1/4 mile away, the sound is clearly audible!!!The electronics are mounted to the rear and encapsulated in crash resistant silicone rubber, designed to survive the hardest of impacts. |
Here is the original Mk1 unit. Using the same sounder as the Mk2 the electronics were mounted in the servo lead. They can be seen as a little black lump by the 20p coin. Most of the ‘black lump’ is protection for the electronics which are actually far smaller and contained within. |

The Mk2.5 & Mk2.7 used ‘mode wires to select the mode and timeout period. This made for a very simple and speedy setup. One just ‘snipped’ the wires to select the mode & timeout. |
